The Department of Social Work, Don Bosco College, Angadikadavu and DREAM Kannur jointly organized an anti-drug day awareness campaign on 27th June 2022 at different places in Kannur district. The campaign aimed to raise awareness among the youth and adult population to avoid the use of drugs by emphasizing on the major issues that drug abuse causes to the society.
DREAM Kannur in collaboraton with the Department of Social Work, Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Vayathur UP School, Ulikkal and St John Baptist School, Iritty, organized a rally, flash mob, and street play. The rally was flagged off by Fr Sojan Pananchickal SDB, Head, Department of Social Work and DREAM Director. Shiji Neduparambil , Standing Committee Chairperson, Iritty block, inaugurated the programme. She emphasized on the problems of the drugs and urged the society to stay away from the use of drugs.
Fr. Sojan Pananchickal SDB, DREAM Director, gave a message on anti-drug awareness and reminded the youth that the use of drugs could prevent a person from accomplishing their goals or dreams in life. He ensured the support of DREAM as an effective preventive education and information program to counter the danger of drug addiction. Stanly K.M., Head Master, Vayathur UP School; Shijo Joseph, DREAM Coordinator; Salu Sunny, DREAM Social worker; Alisha Sanil, DREAM Counsellor and Lissy Cyriac, Life Skills trainer and various students also shared their messages during the campaign.
