Vijayadashami is a special day dedicated to leading a child to take their first step towards exploring the great ocean of knowledge. On this auspicious day, children are made to write for the first time with the blessings of a Guru. While other days are also chosen to embark on the journey of learning and acquiring knowledge, Vijayadashami is considered the most auspicious among them.
Around 44 children marked the beginning of their journey towards education under the leadership of the Youth Group and Cultural Wing at DBYC Vaduthala on October 5, 2022. It is worth mentioning that the presence of children of families from different faiths made the initiative by DBYC Vaduthala gain wide recognition.
Knowledge is a weapon to keep the darkness away from the mind and usher in the light of learning and wisdom. It is a key component for the development of human personality and young learners must venture into the world of knowledge by hearing, speaking and writing good things. This is the rationale behind making children write their first words on Vijayadashami, the day when evil is banished and good prevails.
DBYC Vaduthala Rector Fr. Shibu Davies and famous lyricist Sri R K Damodaran made the children write their first alphabets and words.
Fr. Saju (Youth Group Animator), C J Joseph (General Secretary), Anuj (Joint General Secretary), George Wixon (Cultural Wing Secretary and Youth Group President), Anish Lopez (Youth Group Secretary), Sibin Vincent & Anthony Vibin (Convenors) and Youth Group Leaders offered their felicitations.
DBYC Vaduthala wishes hearty greetings to all the children who took their first step into the world of knowledge.
