The country celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation, on October 2, 2022. DBYC Vaduthala, under the leadership of the Youth Group and Cultural Wing, paid their respects to the Mahatma. DBYC Vaduthala Assistant Director Fr. Manuel Gilton delivered the keynote address.
Fr. Saju (Youth Group Animator), CJ Joseph (General Secretary), Anuj (Joint General Secretary), George Wixon ( Cultural Wing Secretary and Youth Group President), Anish (Youth Group Secretary), Jibin & Jose Dominic (Convenors) and Youth Group Leaders offered their felicitations. As part of the celebration, the youth centre members laid a wreath before the image of Mahatma Gandhi to pay their respect.
United Nations observes October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence, and this shows the impact that the Mahatma has had on the world.
Gandhi Jayanti serves as a reminder to the next generation of the works of the Mahatma that even in the most severe crisis, we must strive to work firmly based on the values of truth and non-violence and to make it a way of life.
