Successful Orientation Programme Empowers Students and Parents to Embrace Self-Awareness at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School

On June 1, 2023, Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS) organised an orientation programme at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Chengal for the students and parents. The orientation session aimed to raise awareness of the importance of loving and knowing oneself.

Fr Manu Michael, the director of the DBYS, handled the students’ session whilst the session for the parents revolved around the challenges they are currently facing with their children.

The objective of the orientation programme was twofold: to help students and parents adjust to the new year and to equip them with the knowledge to cope with any upcoming challenges.

During the session, Fr Manu Michael encouraged the participants to take ownership of their life decisions and to be mindful of how their actions can impact the lives of those around them. He also provided helpful tips and tricks on how to make the most out of the adolescent years.

The orientation programme was a great success as it helped the participants gain a better understanding of the need to be self-aware. It also gave the parents and students a platform to discuss their concerns and hopes for the upcoming school year.
